Liepāja Receives Two LCCI Awards for Creating a Business-Friendly Environment

On 5 November 2026, the “Most Business-Friendly Municipality Award 2026” ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in Riga.

Liepāja received two significant awards:
1. Silver Award in the category “Most Business-Friendly State City 2026”.
2. LCCI Kurzeme Regional Council’s Recognition Award 2026.

The assessment and research conducted by the LCCI in cooperation with the research centre SKDS, Lursoft and Junior Achievement Latvia highlight the efforts of local governments in developing a favourable business environment, providing infrastructure and fostering constructive dialogue with local and international businesses.
The awards recognise Liepāja’s continued efforts to strengthen the city’s economic potential, attract investment and create a supportive environment for start-ups, growing businesses and leading industrial companies in the region.

About the LCCI Awards
Each year, the LCCI evaluates Latvian municipalities based on their performance in supporting business development, taking into account quantitative data, business surveys and assessments by regional experts.
